RunningGreat!No shade

Been hitting this route for two weeks now and I love it. Smooth running for roughly three miles out and three miles back. Plenty to look at. Thousands of birds on the water at times. Terrain is fairly flat. Some small grades that I noticed barely.

Walking

Great and easy trail for the entire family. Biking, walking, running, dog walking (on leash) are all easy here. The birds are amazing and if you are luck you will spot the otters. There are several trail options, and a drinking fountain/water bottle filling/dog fountain station, but no bathrooms. People have been good about wearing masks and keeping distance from others.

This was a beautiful walk in a wildlife refuge with a couple of salt ponds, several Eucalyptus trees, but mostly wetlands and an abundance of wildlife. The wetlands is a part of an interconnected watershed system that drains into the San Francisco Bay. I was impressed with the well maintained level paths that was a natural habitat for waterfowl, shorebirds and other wildlife species. I seen many song birds and shore birds, as well as, raptors and wintering ducks. This is definitely a great place for bird and wildlife observation. After walking about 2 miles along the marshlands, there was not many wildflowers to observe, but I did see lots of wild radish in white, pink and yellow colors, field mustard, hairy vetch, and marigold. Strangely so, no California poppy was seen anywhere. Lots of various ducks noted and black necked stilts feeding in the mud flats. The path was wide enough to allow sufficient social distancing, not many people which was nice. Also a nice place for cycling and dog friendly with doggie bags offered for owners to use. Cons: No bathrooms and can be isolated for solo females so carry safety protection.

This is a nice trail. Flat, easy. No doubt in the warmer months there will be full sun with no shade so bring a hat and wear plenty of sunscreen. Beautiful views.

Wide open trail with beautiful views of the marsh and Napa River. Dog-friendly, but no access to shores due to nature preservation, and almost no shade. Hundreds of waterfowl easily visible and terrestrial bird song all around. Great for bird-watching! Would be perfect for an early morning jaunt with a group of all ages including wheelchairs or strollers.

Was wonderful! Until we can across an aggressive coyote...maybe she’s a mama? But we had to run really fast from her. Bring protection if going on this trail near the vineyard...will do again for sure

We’ve walked these trails for 20 years. Wonderful and flat. Best to not walk on hot days not a lot of shade. Location will provide a good breeze. Best time of day is morning as most are cloudy with the sun coming out by noon. Good for bikes too
