I didn't think I was ready for a hard hike. Was still building up to it. But I did it! It did feel good to reach the very top and then take the slower 4 mile hike around to get back down. if you're not ready for it, I would recommend using hiking poles.

The first mile is a 1100' elevation gain and is quite the workout. Once you reach the flag at mile one you can take two trails. The trail to the left is approximately 4 miles long and ends at Glendora Mountain Road. It is shady, relatively flat and is a pleasant hike. The trail to the right of the flag continues to ascend and travels further into the canyon. This hike is classified as hard which is accurate.

This trail has some very very steep segments on a very dusty and slippery surface (dust, dirt, rocks). It is very easy to get injured on this poorly designed trail. Don’t recommend. There are much better options in the area.

Beautiful scenic hike that will offer beautiful views, an opportunity to be in a state of complete silence, a chance to hear your echo as you yell into the mountains, and various routes to sift through as you transcend into nature's simple beauty above the city of Glendora. This is a hike. Will be back! Also, if you want a challenge, go up elevated trails. Punk out trail is about a mile in. Its an awesome challenge.

This is one of my absolute favorite trails. it's a great work out but not overbearing and offers gorgeous views!

Brutal! Definitely hard. Feel like I need to be in better shape and bring more water

This trail is rated hard I would say easy to moderate not hard .Has a lot of bike riders flying down so beware ! But overall good hike would do again.

Great quick and steep hike. Lot's of foot traffic. Hiking poles were helpful for the steep parts.

The trail is too overgrown right now and is creepy because of rattlesnakes. Otherwise, love this trail. Good exercise and distance.

One of my favorite trails in my hometown. There's a few other trails you can veer off to (poop out, punk out etc). Gorgeous views but also pretty difficult. Tons of incline. Make sure to bring water and watch for the rattlers!

Loved this hike very challenging if you start off on from the main road which is a dirt path and all uphill. Will do it again

Great views!! This is an ideal trail if you don't want to hike Mt Baldy in the winter.

I went just before sunset and the view was absolutely beautiful!! Difficult to go down Poop out trail if you don't have the proper shoes. This trail was perfect since I didn't have have much time before it got dark.

Difficult trails if you look for good work out...this is it. We enjoyed it but not for kids. Too steep some area.

Went all the way out, up, and down poop out trail loved it. Great quick workout

Steep! Good workout if you're short on time. Up and back is 2.6 miles. Alternate route back via the more gradual Lower Monroe Trail (turn left downhill when you reach the top, then a left at each of two roads when you reach the bottom) makes it a 4.5 mile loop.

Challenging and fun. Good workout. Highly recommend trekking poles for the descent.

I enjoyed climbing very much, but coming back down was just too difficult for today. Very dry and sandy terrain. I kept sliding down because the Earth would slide beneath my footing. Going up was an awesome challenge for me. We went up and came back down the same way. I did not see any other trails. Dont recommend taking little ones. The Dam Trail is better if you was easy stroll

I followed the directions the All Trails app gave coming from Route 66 & Lonehill. Soon after you turn right onto Big Dalton Canyon Rd., you'll see 2 wooden poles on your left that say Mystic Canyon Trail & Big Dalton Canyon Trail. Right across the street from those poles is free parking. Trail is very steep at times & has a lot of rocks so you can't really run much but overall nice trail & worth doing!

Very steep, saw several people fall and eventually I slid a few feet myself. :(

Several small parking spots. No signs but you should see something that looks like a dam on your left w a parking lot.

Love this trail. Multiple trails to the top, and some are very steep and difficult, while others are pretty easy yet pretty long. The easier ones can work as jogging trails and the harder ones provide a great workout. Not crowded. Great trail. Lots of other trails in the area of Big Dalton, all great.
