This was a great trail. I wish I came on a day that wasn’t so hot cause 80% of it was in the sun. The views were beautiful. I wish I had brought a snack to have at the top of eagle rock

Went early Sunday morning. Parking lot doesn’t open til 8am so we parked on the street. Weather was beautiful. Nice variation of up and down rolling hills with some scenery changes. Beautiful view of the ocean once you get to the top. Started to make our way back down at about 9 and the trail was already getting significantly busier. Got to the lot at 10am and it was already full. So definitely worth it to show up first thing in the morning before the crowds. Musch Trail was significantly less busy than the fire road.

Clockwise Great trail! Nice mix of landscapes — some open grass fields, mountain views, shady covered gulch-type terrain, and desert-like areas. Not too crowded, and everyone is super nice and mostly masked. Good, easy workout when going clockwise. Beautiful views from eagle rock.

HikingGreat!

Wow I loved this hike. You get the best of both worlds with large open rolling hills and shaded leafy groves. There was one bit that was quite steep for a while, but for the most part it’s a pleasant mix of slightly uphill and slightly downhill. Beautiful oak trees and views of the canyon. Trail is perfectly clear too! There were a ton of cars parked, but the trail never felt crowded somehow.

This is a great trail that passes through a variety of environments. The Munsch trail is much better than the fire road that completes the loop. The route is easy to find except for one turn if you are going down the Munsch trail. There is a spot where the trail looks like it continues down the ridge when in fact you need to turn left downhill. It was a nice hike in the winter but I am sure that it is even better in the Spring.

HikingFeeGreat!

I thoroughly enjoyed the Musch Trail! It is a wonderful curvy trail with moderate incline and FULL of wildlife. I seen (most likely) the same bobcat that a reviewer reported two weeks ago. It was in the same area reported by the reviewer. While passing some hikers about 3/4 mile into the hike, they told me about four deer up the trail, but I missed them. Eagle Rock did not disappoint. It was a fun hike to the top of this rock. I took the fire road down to the trailhead and this would be good for trail runners or mountain bikers. Next time, I will take the Musch Trail out and back as it is much prettier.

Fun trail up and back. Didn’t go fire road. Too many people. Saw a bobcat immediately getting on the trail and got to watch nature in action as is preyed on a field rat and caught him.

I loved this hike. I went straight up to Eagle Rock and then looped back down the Munch Trail. I did unintentionally wander off the trail going down a couple times but with this app got back to the trail and survived. Ha. But really going up to Eagle Rock was great and going out on to Eagle Rock was spectacular. Views were excellent. Looking forward to going back with friends when that’s a thing we can do again. Pay lot or you can hike in from the street. And I got to see deer again.

Went counterclockwise, nice wide path with good inclines up to Eagle Rock. Beautiful views along the way with a spectacular view at the top. Lots of birds, saw some deer, no other wildlife. Musch trail back was narrow with lots of shade. Great mixture of forest, fields and rolling hills.

HikingGreat!

Went the opposite way that AllTrails takes you but was still super beautiful. As everyone mentioned there’s not much shade so go early and bring water. Musch trail was narrow so best to do that half when there aren’t too many people and can safely social distance! I also parked outside the park for free parking
