Gorgeous views! Overall a short but moderate hike with a nice ascent to get your blood pumping. Pretty steep and gravelly right near the top. I recommend taking the lefthand path on the way up so as to do the steepest bit going up rather than going down. We went in November and saw lizards and a good number of birds, including a roadrunner! There’s a beach just across the highway which combined with the hike makes for a nice half or full day excursion.

Pleasant hike this morning. No mosquitoes and no bad winds. There was a slight marine layer but still looked like Anacapa showing through. Saw three deer as I was taking the loop back.

kind of a tough and steep start, but gets really calm and easy half the way up. Once you reach the peak of the steep initial climb, hang a right for a lover but easier hike, or a left for a shorter more intense climb.

Great Hike. Was pretty tough for me. Was so happy once I seen the flag. What an amazing view. Came back down in the dark as people were going up to watch the full moon.

Good trail to get the heart rate up. There are some steep parts for sure but it levels out. Going down can be extremely fast if you like the challenge. For dogs not being allowed, there was a lot of dog poop on the trail. There was even a guy jumping from e top with a parachute.

challenging uphills, excellent 360 views, steep uphills mean steep downhills so not for those with knee issues.

Trail should be rated as MODERATE. It definitely isnt hard. Nice views on a clear day.

A nice hike. Fresh wildflowers are gone. At the Chumash notch and heading up the Mugu Peak direct trail (North West ascent) it got fairly windy. The recent rains dampened down the dirt which made it an easier ascent than usual. Would have been easier for a descent too, but I went down the Mugu Peak trail side (South East).

Intense but so much amazing stuff packed into a short trail! I highly recommend going right at the fork as it splits the hike up into 2 sections nicely. Plus the left side ascent is kind of loose and mostly dirt and much much steeper, and not really in a fun way.

Absolutely spectacular trail, got there late and was unfortunately unable to complete the loop. But it was so breathtaking and challenging that I’m excited to go back!!! Highly recommend!
