1,500+ feet of climbing in 2 miles is no joke. The views and trail are awesome. And all that climbing feels worth it in the end. We had lunch at mountain home inn after the hike. That beer tasted good.
Great sunrise hike to do before work. Got my heart rate pumping and saw some beautiful views
Sunny and warm en route but cool and breezy at the top - beautiful mix of forest and breathtaking mountainside/ocean views
Pretty rocky and a steep incline at first, but really paid off for the views!
Perfect weather - mid 60s with a lot of sun. Strenuous to the top but took the flatter trail for part of the way down and it was better on the knees. **Note that they closed all water fountains at East Peak parking lot. only water fountain was at the Firestation.
Pretty nice view on the top, trail elevation is a little bit tough, but worth to try, you can park in the East peak parking lot for $8 if you don’t want walk too much.
Great trail! Challenging and rocky but the view is definitely worth it
This was my favorite hike I’ve done on Mt. Tam! Really difficult but worth it for the stunning views all the way from Marin to the Pacific Ocean. Best to do it on a clear day to get the full experience. Was about 6 miles in total if you go up to the lookout station.
