It was a nice workout for us. Not a lot of people on a Saturday afternoon. You can also walk up from the parking lot near the summit if you don’t want to do the 4 hour round trip hike. Mostly shaded. A lot of dirt on the trail as it’s pretty dry

Great and beautiful hike! The trail was mostly shaded and full of beautiful trees. There was a beautiful lookout near the top, and it provided awesome views of the mountain. The trail is definitely not very wide, and there werr a few cyclists riding down the mountain. We drove all the way to the top to park our car, then hiked from the top downwards. It was tough finding parking in the parking lot at the bottom since the parking lot is so small.

Great hike! Partially shaded, which was nice for a summer day. The trail was clearly marked and parking was easy to find. I started the trail at 12:30pm. Bring a good supply of water - 1.5L. Rewarding views at the top. I really enjoyed the informational signs at the top with the history of the area, inhabitants, and types of wild life native to the area.

Great trail. Mostly shaded. Parking was hard to find. Gradual slope. The trail was crowded, lots of families with young children. The trail makes its way through forest. The vegetation blocks most of the view throughout the trail, which I didn’t find too rewarding. But views are expansive at the top. Plan to carry 1-2 liters of water in summer.

I would rate as a 5 star joke: great scenery, moderate trail. The path is too narrow though and there are reckless mountain bikers that blaze through like @ssholes

Really easy trail and clearly marked. I went on a Friday morning and saw lots of people of the trail. Parking was insane though. Either get there very early (before 8am) or later in the day around 2. Views were decent at the end. Took me about 2.5 hours total.

Pretty cool. Took about 3.5 hours to go up and back down with very few breaks in between and a 15 minute break once we reached the top. Views are amazing and there’s openings in the trail so you can see the views as you walk. Ran into a rattlesnake though! Be very aware while walking this and have kids walk in the middle of the trail. Snake was off to the side of the mountain but it definitely didn’t like that we were walking past it. Not a lot of people. We started at 9:15.

Really lovely moderate hike. Not particularly difficult, but steady and a fair distance in total. Recommend going in the morning or late afternoon.

Great trail for an out and back with great signage and a wide path. Not too steep. Rained for us, but still a nice hike.

Fairly difficult trail run but has some gorgeous views along the way. It’s shaded which is great in hot weather. I’ve did this May 26th and May 14th and neither time had more than 2-3 groups on it. Most of the trail is also pretty easy to stay distant.

Wonderful hike! I went on Memorial Day right when the gates opened, so only a limited number of people were there which made it easier to social distance. It took us just under 1.5 hours to get up to the top, and although we didn't do it, you could run back down as the terrain is not too rough. The grade is gentle and gradual for a majority of the trail. Most of the trail is shaded and doesn't feel dry, but do bring a hat for those few sunny spots, especially as you near the peak. A little under half a mile out from the peak, there's a beautiful view of the valley (without any high rises in sight!).

I really enjoyed this trail. It’s a nice mix of shade and open space. The trail was crowded and it is not very wide which made it difficult to maintain social distancing when passing other hikers. The trail is shared by hikers mountain bikers and horses. The wooded areas are very pretty and you get to cross two bridges. This is a nice family friendly trail.

OMG..... I were here on May 12/2020. The weather was so nice, it is the most beautiful spot in the entire valley. The Panoramic view of the BayArea awaits for everyone! Great trails, still very green, very windy at Bald Mountain, But I had 360 degree view, Excellent place to enjoy nature. I would highly recommend this to those who love NATURE.
