Mount Thorn via Hotstetter and Verdugo Crest Trail is a 11.7 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Sun Valley, California that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as difficult. The trail is primarily used for hiking, trail running, and mountain biking and is best used from March until November. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
The Bridle Trail, also referred to as East Ridge or Hogback Trail, connects the Helipad with Dante's View in Griffith Park. It offers great views of downtown Los Angeles, the Pacific, and the San Gabriel Mountains.
the first stretch is concrete and borders the highway, so it felt a bit too urban for me. Then 3 cars passed me while on the trail, which is a wide dirt trail. If I had known there could be cars on this trail I would have done a different one. I only went about 1.5 or 2 miles and then turned back. the incline is pretty mild but I guess it's steady over the whole hike.
