Getting There

As of May 28, 2020, users have reported that the 10th street entrance is still closed, but there are plenty of other ways up. The parking at the park is a good option. Mt. Rubidoux trail is more of a paved road, but makes a great place for a quick run, a beautiful hike with friends and family, or for taking your dog for a walk. Though it is not a long trail, the amazing views of Riverside make this paved trail a popular place. There is an American Flag and a Cross at the top. Bring sunscreen or a hat. Parking at the trailhead can be tricky to find, and most hikers use nearby parking areas. The trail has some grade but it is great for strollers and wheelchairs.

From the Pomona Freeway (60) in Riverside, exit on Market Street and proceed east into downtown. Turn west (right) on Mission Inn Avenue and drive 7 blocks to Redwood Drive. Turn left and head 2 blocks to 9th Street, turn right and continue 2 more blocks to the distinct trail head.

Not really a hike but it was still fun and a good trail to take beginners on. Paved the whole way with signs marking the flow of traffic. Park in the park and walk back to the trail head.

Awesome little hike, the trail is paved and clean, seems very taken care of. There are many benches to sit and rest along the trail on your way up. There are some shady spots also, you get amazing views while going up. There are signs directing traffic flow to help with the Covid 19 situation, which was great. I arrived at the trail around 3 PM and there were very few people, however on our way back down, it was about 5, a lot more people started to arrive there were larger crowds. At the top it is a beautiful 360 view of the entire area it looks amazing and is great to just hang out and sit while you cool down from the walk up the trail ! We parked at the parking lot of the park down the street and walked up to the trail !

First time coming here , all paved hike is not steep, coming down is even easier ! It is gorgeous overlook scenic cities the whole walking time , top is plenty of space to enjoy the beautiful Cross , Flag, building. It feels like in Arizona , Can’t wait time come back ! Parking space is pass this trail no fee. We started 4p very quite , come back around 7p rush of people coming , 25 % people wear mask ! But all keep distance n respectful ! All dogs on leash, wear Hat as it’s some shade only, but the breeze helps coz you are above. 3 miles round trip, u can take 2 different ways (it should make the same destination n come back) one is a bit longer than the other.

Great views, rocky at moments however most of the hike has a concrete trail. It was very nice heavily visited place be mindful of that. Dog friendly, most people had their dogs in a leash people kept their distance It’s was very clean as well there are trash cans. I would say it was a easy hike.

Well we are not entirely sure how to conventionally get to the trail. The way my boyfriend and I got to it was my scaling half of the mountain off of a random dirt trial leading god knows where. With that aside, the trail is paved and very calm. Not too many people crowd the trail and it’s a steady escalation that isn’t too hard on the feet. Once you get to the top there is a gorgeous view and a cross on both sides of the area. There are many shaded places to sit and relax. Definitely a place anyone can and should check out.

Relatively “short” paved trail. Makes it ideal for testing out gear for longer hikes and weight of gear. Parked at Bonaminio Park and still found parking around 7:45AM. Area is crowded with people. There are benches on the trail for those who may need to catch their breath. Do recommend bringing your own EarPods if you have any to block out other people’s discussions and music.

It was such a nice hike, however my dog must have found some edibles on the ground because she was acting weird when we got home. Went to the animal hospital and she tested positive for marijuana. So if you bring edibles when hiking please do not drop them on the ground.

I absolutely love this trail. I’ve hiked here multiple times.. such a beautiful view of riverside county. Park your vehicle at the park & hike up to trail.. don’t let anything important in your car.. this is a great trail for all levels . It’s paved so ppl can bring their strollers , wheelchairs .. especially if you are hiking with small children & elderly. I’d suggest go early morning or sunset to me those are my most favorite times.Plenty if room for park at the city park down the street. Only advice is pack snacks & water and sunblock depending the time frame you are hiking . They offer rock climbing and the more rocky & edgy if you are looking for a challenge. The views at the top were beautiful !

Be advised the 10th st entrance is still closed but plenty of other ways up .. The parking at the park is the best way to go. Markers on the ground tell you which way to go now, for social distancing.

this is my favorite trail in the I.E. I come almost everyday. It’s a very easy ~3 mile hike. It’s great for family, kids, or pets. I’ve even seen a man walking his Chamaeleon once.
