> Gorgeous views, gorgeous cool, green valley path with trail winding across the creek > We ended up following the creek back to the top of the falls in instead of finishing the loop > Obnoxiously loud people below at the falls > Fewer than half wearing masks > Very steep drop off and had a mtn biker come around a blind curve (no bell). He could easily have run off the trail, down the cliff to great pain and suffering. Or taken us down with him. > Lightly trafficked (Sun 2:30p) > Gate was not closed even though it was a weekend and said it would be.

we did this Loop clockwise so the beginning was pretty easy and a lot of shade but once we got up into the canyon and took the cut off that trail going up to the road is pretty steep but it's doable then you come back on the road all the way back to the turn off down into Millard Canyon overall it was a nice workout quite a few people for a Thursday

Little crowded, but people were mask mindful and kept distant. Beautiful views. Great way to start off the well needed new year. Come on 2021!

Great hike and not too hot. Chaney Trail was closed to cars though (and will be through 8/31) so we had to hike roughly a mile to the trailhead.

The entire down part of the loop is on a fire road, so downhill pavement - not very forgiving on the body. The first half of the loop is beautiful - especially when you veer left at the first fork and go down to the stream.

Nice hike. I’d recommend going counterclockwise on the loop - start by going up the paved fire road, take the switchbacks down to the creek and then exit out through the canyon. That way you get the ugliest and most exposed section out of the way first. The creek is a pleasant area to explore but stay aware of your surroundings as you have to backtrack out to the loop. Also keep an eye out for some pretty steep drop offs along the canyon, as well as mountain bikers bombing down.

good loop! the switchbacks are a bit of a climb in the heat but overall nice views and few hikers once you get off the fire trail. also, it dips down into a creek area which was a nice surprise.

Note that the Mt Lowe fire road is paved. The canyon loop trail part - Sunset Ridge trail - is beautiful.

Starts with a fairly wide uphill fire road, and we missed the first turn due to unusually dense fog and went a bit further. the latter parts once we found out way again we're much more enjoyably trail-y and green.

A bit dangerous at times as mountain bikers are coming down the narrow paths. Ran into mountain biker Jeffery who wipeout twice but still was excited about retrieving his bike to continue on.

Nice hike with shade. I recommend getting there early because parking sucks. Wasn’t too crowded, got here around 8:30am. Was getting packed when we were heading back out around 10:30am

Fantastic hike- it’s worth doing the extra 4 miles and hike along the River then up the mountain side back to the planned route. Overall great diversity of environments and great views

Please stay on the paved road if you’re going up towards echo mountain! On the lower trail of mt Lowe there seems to have been a rock slide.. I didn’t try climbing over, turned around and walked back! Be safe!

Took the ridge/road up, trail right (counter clockwise). Once you drop off the road, left onto the trail everything is Beautiful!! We went up Millard creek about 6 crossings. It’s all very green and nice (in December).

Plenty of MTBs on the trail, a few points get rocky with fine, dusty sand. Fun, even seen a cat that appeared to be roughly 20lbs.

DO NOT go along the creek! It is an obvious mistake of the creator of this rout. Gate closes at 8 PM. Your car could be stuck there if you'll late.
