As of May 2020, hikers report that the park may still be closed. Once on top, to the east you can see the eastern mountains, rolling hills, and the Salt Creek Golf Course; to the west and south you can see all of Bonita, Sweetwater Reservoir, and Chula Vista all the way to the bay and the sea. Enjoy views all the way to Mexico, Coronado, and Downtown San Diego. No shade, rapid elevation change, very steep in some areas. Loose rocks! Be careful on your way down.

Great views that are visible throughout the hike. Trail is pretty narrow and popular so bring your face mask or bandana!

Started this hike around 9am and it was PACKED with people and got hot super fast. I would recommend going earlier than later for sure. Also, the trail is small so if you are worried about being close to people during COVID this is something to consider. Not my favorite hike in SD, but definitely a beautiful view at the top!

I went on this hike today 5/24/2020 for the first time. I absolutely loved it. Very good workout. I’m used to going to Cowles which is still closed right now. This hike to me is easier than Cowles but still an awesome hike. There were a considerable amount of people there. I will definitely go earlier next time.

Such a great hike i really loved it. Went at 9:30am and it wasn't as crowded as expected. At first i though we where going the wrong way going down the first hill, but after that there is arrows showing you the way. It's moderate challenging for beginners but at the top the view is breath taking. So worth it.

I've never seen it so crowded! The trails are relatively narrow, and there is no shade. However, it's one of the few trails open during Covid-19, so be aware of the impending risks with the heavy traffic. When all trails are open, Miguel is only moderately trafficked. Easy-to-follow trail with a steady incline. The last .10 is the worst, but a pretty view and not too bad.

Great hike. Go early to avoid the crowds. FYI. Most people aren’t wearing face masks.

Awesome hike!

The trail is open. A little difficult to practice social distancing as the is narrow for the most part so carry your masks. The incline makes it moderate. Starts out fairly easy and then really gains height. The trail is quite well marked, can take a few off trail steep shortcuts. After crossing the summit, we continued on for another half a mile as per the map but it got really steep going down and so we turned back. No shade, bring lots of water, a cap and sunscreen. Among the two of us, we went through 4 bottles of water. Views are pretty but it was cloudy so couldn't see the horizon clearly. Parking available along the street.

This trail is open as far as I’m concerned. Went around 9-10am. There was a crowd but not crazy packed. Great hike. Second time doing it. Felt nice to be outdoors again.
