This is not a trail, this is a joke played on the all trails community. Ha ha you got me. The views from the top are very nice, and the hiking down the backside are fun, but when the trail runs out the fun stops. By this point you're almost 4 miles into a 5 mile hike, so you're left with the choice of bushwhacking with the hope of finding a trail quickly, or returning 4 miles the way you came. The hiking at this point becomes extremely difficult at best, and dangerous at worst. There were several large rocks that gave way, on very steep ground, when stepped on. I would not recommend this trail

The backside or power line route abruptly ends about halfway down and we had to bushwack down one side across a ravine and up the other side before suddenly landing on a truck road. There was no trail where AllTrails app showed a trail. We followed a deer trail. It took 3 hrs to do the loop and it was 5.4 miles. The bushwhack part took 1 hour to go 1 mile.

Hard trail for mountain biking. Lots of bike hiking for the beginner/intermediate. And probably for advanced too depends which route direction you take. People hiking down told us we where climbing through the steepest part of it. we went straight up counter clockwise from the san miguel park, Maybe next time we'll go clockwise. The workout was challenging and the decend was Fast and fun. Be on break lots of rocks and loose dirt.

I switch between this and the basic back and forth trail most of the year. Due to the much needed rain at the beginning of the year, there are extremely tall grasses and weeds in areas near an abandoned metal shack. If you encounter snakes or bikers, there is no room to get out of their way without literally jumping or walking into the thick brush. I don't mind it, but you may.

I went up the main path to the summit which had quite a few people and was moderate if you ignored the switchbacks. Going down the backside was hard initially before you reach the powerline service road, which then ended at a steep drop off. Path from here was totally obscured by all the wild flowers which I had to bushwhack through. Pretty bad to complain about the beautiful wild flowers. Without the All Trails map it would have been impossible to follow.
