This is a Mokelumne Coast to Crest Trail Day Hike in the Upper Mokelumne River Canyon segment of this 300+ mile trail. See more www.mc2ct.org. The MCCT is not fully built and signed yet, but major portions are open. This trail was started over 30 years ago! The trail between Mosquito Lake and Pacific Valley was completed in 2015, two weeks before the Butte Fire that destroyed over 500 Calaveras County properties. This tiny segment made possible, for the first time, the ability to travel between Ebbetts Pass and Lake Alpine without walking next to hwy 4 or traveling on a multi-day inland trip.
