Trail was very soft sand hard to walk in. Not much to see. Very unscenic.

Great area and view of ocean from top of the dunes. Great workout for legs since it is all sand.

Great coastal hike from Monarch Ln to the Sea. A bit challenging for those not in Cardio-shape since it is all through sand. The next to last leg involves a slog over a 80 foot Sand Dune. Nice views on top, then on to the Ocean. Mostly locals take these routes with 3 or more variants. Takes about 1 1/2 hours at a leisurely pace. It is of course optional if you want to con't walking along the beach toward Morro Rock. Best time to go is not when they fence off Snowy Plower breeding areas. Impressive views, few people, & quite peaceful.
