Nice and easy trail around a portion of Fallen Leaf Lake. Lake is accessible from trailhead or you can follow varied routes to bring you around to it after a short hike. only around 25 parking spots at trailhead but we only had to wait about 5-10 minutes before other hikers were headed out. we had 6 kids ages 4-12 and 3 dogs and all had a blast. FYI - best lake swimming spots are at beginning of trailhead just over small hill.

Easy fun trail. Great views of Fallen Leaf with little elevation climb. Walked the 1934 Fallen Leaf Damn, saw a beaver tree and multiple birds <3

What a fun trail! Perfect for kids. We parked in the day use area and the trailhead is right there. You hit the lake right away and there are lots of little beaches and alcoves to stop along the way. We enjoyed the picnic tables and my kids (ages 7 and 4) loved playing with all the geese and the rocks. Highly recommend for families!

This was amazing! Parking lot closed so we parked in front of gate and walked in. Well worth it! We ventured off the main trail onto smaller trails and they did not disappoint! Highly recommend. Easy terrain to navigate.

Walked in from Fallen Leaf Road (where we parked). As of 2/16, trail still has a bit of snow but not enough for snow shoeing. I was happy walking in my snow boots since we did go through a bit of snow and a lot of muddy puddles. We encountered some brave folks doing a polar bear swim at the East end of the trail!

Flat trail along the creek opening up to angelic views of Fallen Leaf Lake and Mt. Tallac. Pack a lunch and make sure to cross the bridge where the creek meets the lake to find unparalleled picnicking spots.

The campground at the start of the trail was closed for the season, so we parked outside the gates and hiked in. It’s an easy, mostly flat trail with incredible views.

Nice easy trail. Great for kids or bikes. Lots of dogs playing in the lake. It was a good recovery hike after a much harder one the day before. It does branch off to other trails a few times so we had to back track once.

Marche au milieu de la forêt de pins le long du lac de fallen leaf, sympathique mais sans grand intérêt par rapport à toutes les autres randonnées disponibles autour. Bien pour les familles car facile et plate

A very pleasant trail with some mountain views and most is right near the water. Light to moderate use in September. The trailhead is not well marked, so take the path to the right of the info sign up the hill and down towards the lake. There are camp restrooms about a hundred yards from the parking lot

Beautiful easy hike. Only issue was trailhead was not well marked from the parking directions. We headed over the hill and could see the lake immediately so it was easy to figure out from there.

Beautiful hike! Gorgeous views of lake and watershed. Well marked trail. Saw a beautiful black bear eating berries by the watershed. There are pretty Blue Jays all around.. only a few other hikers on the trail when we went.

Really pretty trail, but wait until summer to go. We went on 4/23/19 and couldn’t make it to the lake due to so much water on the ground. So we took the road that leads to the same place, making it a 4.9 mile walk with a good amount of snow still on the ground. It was very nice and definitely worth a 2.1 mile walk but not worth a 4.9 mile walk!

Stars go mostly to the lake that is kind of a secret gem. Very few people, very calm and pretty views. The trail is so easy. I’d recommend to run it and then enjoy the lake (in summer)

Easy trail for kids, you will want to swim and can. I have tried to come before and found the small day use lot full before, can't believe I got parking today. mid week, before 10am. got back to car at 12 and lot was full, and cars turning around. that being said, you can park along the road and rather than walk to the day use lot to start the trail, you will see trails leading into the lake from the road. hike is breath taking. lake is gorgeous.

Trail as marked on the gps just sort of stops. In reality there is much more walking that one could do. The trail is easy and easy to follow so good for kids. There are many points along this trail where you can stop and swim or wade into the shallow water of the lake. We explored the abandoned cabin at the end of the trail. I would be very cautious of anyone entering that structure. It looks like someone may be squatting in the garage.

So beautiful, but be careful. We saw a giant mamma grizzly only about 60 ft from us with 2 cubs. Just make sure you keep your head up and are aware of you surroundings at all times. It was amazing to see them!
