I wouldn't consider it a trail but it's a nice stair case to take on the way to Grand View Park; which has a 360 degree view of Financial District, the gate, the beach, and the colorful sf houses.

This place is never a let down. Super easy walk with not only those awesome stair works but an amazing view at the top as well, especially when the fog kicks in. Great workout for your hamstrings and quads!

Awesome view of Ocean Beach and Inner Sunset once you get to the top! There are a lot of steps, so be prepared to get that heart rate up! The mosaic steps are a beauty, but more of a photo op than anything. Try not to visit on the weekends, as it would be much too crowded to get decent pictures. Parking in the residential areas may be tough dependent upon when you visit.
