The paths were really narrow so it was hard to walk with my husband. There were also a lot of people and it was hard to relax.

As good as it gets!!! A walk along the Pacific Ocean for 4 miles. Not too many people. Nice sturdy trails. Took my dog with me and stopped at the cemetery on the way back. Beautiful! Many benches along the way. Will be doing this one again soon!

A nice walk with a great view on the ocean! Did the trail between Monterey Bay aquarium and Lighthouse avenue. Lots of sea lions!!

The PG loop is nice but correctly the MPR Trail is 29 miles from Castroville to Pacific Grove. Great urban trail and at low tide you can opt to walk the entire beach. I like to pick it up by the old Ft Ord. Free, safe parking and easy access. Suggest using the actual trail on parts and then the beach for others to break up the out-n-back scenery. Lot of ways to cut the trail is easy and enjoyable sections based on your mood.

Very easy path with great views of the ocean! I would forego the loop and instead just turn around when we felt like it. It's more of an out and back trail. We did see seals and sea otters though!!

Very easy trail with beautiful views! We saw a sea lion sunbathing on a rock. The colors of the ocean water were spectacular! Lots of rocks to climb on and tide pools to explore!

Nice walk along the coast with beautiful views

Gorgeous trial that allows ocean front view all the way. I see this more of a walk along the beach.

Dog friendly with lots of great vista points. Heavily traveled by bicyclists, or at least on this October Sunday. Not as accommodating for walkers because it's hard to relax while keeping clear of two- wheel traffic. Loved the views and the wildflower and the salt air.

Great trail with views of the ocean. Lots of places to stop and rest or put your toes in the sand. Dog friendly too! Busy with people and bikes pretty much all the time...

Great path paved the whole way and always has people on it. Good scenic walk or ride.

My father and I drove 65 miles to try out this trail and it was worth it. We started atFort Ord regional park and rode down to the pier in Monterey. It isn't a mountain bike trail at all considering it is all paved but for a beginner like my father it was a perfect ride for a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Along the way you can view old bunkers from WWII and some old firing ranges. There are also plenty of areas where you can stop and walk down to the beach.

I guess this is the closest trail in the database.. We ride the Monterey Peninsula Recreational Trail.. This spans from Castroville to Pacific Grove. I believe one way is approx. 14 miles... we park at the REI off Imjin Road which is just a little north of SandCity. From here you can cross over the freeway and onto the trail head with a 10mile shot straight into Monterey.

I would highly recommend this ride.. It is moderate with one nasty piece for the rusty being the ride around Sand City on the way back. Views are fantastic of the surf, dunes, Monterey etc..
