Outstanding views! We took the trail counterclockwise, going up the fire road. The path down was narrow in places and there was loose soil in some spots so be sure to wear shoes with good tread.

HikingGreat!

Amazing trail. Warning though, there is no obvious marker where the little detour at the top ends. We pulled out our phone and found out we went well beyond and then decided to keep going. next thing you know, we ended up at north peak at elevation 1870 feet. Stunning ocean view with a beautiful sunset. The way down in dark was tricky. You definitely need a pair of solid hiking shoes with strong grip.

Great hike! Followed the advice to go backwards. It was super steep at first but leveled out. You will climb again later in the hike. Overall amazing views and lots of space on the trail. Felt the trail was a tad confusing following the map but still was a great hike.

Beautiful ocean views. I agree with recommendations of counter clockwise and definitely be prepared for the last mile to be steep; wear good hiking shoes. I went on a Saturday afternoon and felt it was too heavily trafficked for my taste but still enjoyed the time.

Nice ocean view. Use hiking shoes ‘cause it could be steep and slippery sometimes.

If you want to go counter clockwise, look for the stairs to the left of the entrance. We missed the trailhead so we ended up going clockwise up the fire trail, which is straight uphill with no shade. The descent was not as steep but the dirt is very loose, so wear proper shoes with good tread and use poles if you plan on going down that way.
