Monserate Mountain Trail is a 3.1 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Fallbrook, California that offers the chance to see wildlife and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, running, and nature trips. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Hiked this for the first time and was not disappointed, probably one of my new favorites and bonus for not being too far of a drive. There are quite a few trails to choose from and we chose the long (super inclined) way up past and around the water tower which put us at nearly 6 miles round trip. It was super awesome that the trail markers reflected the floors of the twin towers and honored to complete this tribute to 9/11. Best part was everyone we passed was so friendly and helpful, it was really uplifting. So if you need a morale boost and a little chit chat, this hike was perfect. Not too hard (I’m an amateur), pretty well paved in most areas and maintained nicely (saw no trash littered), the view was amazing as well!
First time hiking this trail. It’s pretty busy although I went on a Saturday. It’s hot some steep sections and portions are paved but overall it is a good hike and some great views. V3
Love this one. All incline to the summit. Rocky, and sometimes steep. We did it at night for the second time last night. Quiet, fun, and a good workout. *Make sure you never go alone at night, bring your knife/pepper spray, and a survival kit. There's noone to help you out there if something goes wrong.
Great trail. Intermediate for sure. Doable even out of shape
