If you want solitude in Death Valley, this is one of the trails to get it. You're almost guaranteed no other soul on the trail especially in the hotter months. If you have a reliable 4 wheel drive, you can drive all the way up to the dry waterfall from the trailhead otherwise you're in for a lengthy and scorching hike. Take lots of water and plan accordingly. The radiant heat once inside the canyon is punishing but you'll be rewarded with an old gold mine/stamp mill ruins. Some narrow passages and scrambling are unavoidable. Also, this trail goes a bit longer than indicated here. There's a seasonal spring at the end of the trail but pack in your own water. Enjoy the view and wildlife. Some big chuckwallas call this canyon home.

Easy trail. Some steepness in beginning. 4ft tall foliage blocks trail and is impassable even if you climb over the rocks. Some cool mine ruins. Loved the fact that no one else was on the trail.
