Great trail! Absolutely stunning views from the top! Make sure to bring a wind breaker for the peak, it is very cold and windy. Mostly well marked, except at the top. I got a little lost coming down from the boulders. Trail is over grown in a few places, but it’s not terrible. Mostly a shaded trail, which is fantastic during the summer. Not much for views until the top. No water source along the way, so make sure you bring plenty of water. Trail is pretty steep in a few spots, but manageable. The last couple of miles getting to the Marvin Pass trailhead are brutal. Bring a vehicle with high clearance if you can.

We started our hike at Sequoia High Sierra Camp, a little ways up from the Marvin Pass trail head. This is a beautiful hike with considerable elevation gain. But the climb was worth it for the view from Mitchell Peak. Tons of shade, on the way up. We left around 9am and spend a good hour at the top, all in all we spent a little under 4 hours hiking plus the break. Pack a lunch and eat at the peak... the view makes lunch taste even better.

You’re going to need bug spray... the flies and mosquitoes made this trail almost annoying.. however the views at the summit are unbeatable.. definitely worth the effort.

Great hike, gains quite a bit of elevation. Did it with my 6 year old son, so kids can come also. Worth it for the view in the end. Was able to make it up in about 2 hours and quicker coming down. Saw lots of deer on the way up. Great beginner hike

i would have rated this trail as hard today. I think the air quality was the main culprit. it is all incline on the first half and it got so bad that I was having to stop every 30 feet or so to catch my breath the last mile. the viees were obstructed once at the top by all the smoke so I left unimpressed. then to top it off my knee started to hurt lol. bad day on the mountain

Quick and enjoyable out and back with amazing views at the summit. Not too difficult but can be tough if you are not used to altitudes.

I hiked this peak as an early morning hike with some friends of mine, and it was a challenge making it up to the peak for the sunrise, but it was so worth it! To see the mountains bathed in blankets of clouds and early morning sunlight was amazing

The views at the top are amazing. The rest of the hike was through the forest with a bunch of teaser views.

Honestly, this is a butt kicker. Since it was rated as easy I took a first timer with me. This should probably be considered a moderate trail. It does get you tired after a while since it's literally always going up. The views at the top are incredible. It is so worth it, we stayed at the top for a while! The views are just incredible. The trail didn't really take us that long to get it done but it did get us really tired

The 1st mile will definitely warm you up. Really enjoyable out and back trail. The view from the peak is well worth the effort to get there. The elevation change from the floor of the San Joaquin Valley to the 10K+ was noticeable. Expect other hikes to join you at the peak but was not crowded by any means

Awesome hike! Not super difficult, nice day hike. The summit is absolutely incredible. Started around 10:30 and after spending about an hour on the summit, got back to the car lot around 2:30.
