Honestly the trail meh. Narrow in some parts. If it is marked as a road it'll generally be 3-4 people wide. If it marked as a trail it'll be 3-5inches (6-10cm (?)). The views are insane. You can pick out the serra's from the top. Got vertigo in a few places and that dampened the experience. Made a massive mistake, and took the road not jupiter(sp?) trailing from the summit to the camp. The road is VERY EASY GOING, but VERY LONG.

Pay for parking but bathrooms available at the parking lot

We went up Back Creek which is more narrow, rocky and steep! The fire road back down was easy on our knees! Not a ton of shade which gave us views most of our hike and the wildflowers were popping up everywhere!

Great trail although quite steep coming down. Recommend to use poles. I use this trail to Diablo summit.

Perfection! Hard uphill trails but in shade. Choose start direction of Oak Road/ Back Creek Trail, to go home via Deer Flats for an easy descent with unproblematic footing.

Tried this loop on 6/3/2017, ~90 degrees, on a humid / scorching hot day. It's a great challenge, but this was a bit brutal due to the weather condition. Recommended on a cool winter/autumn day. I've started from the Back Creek trail, and the latter half of this trail was very steep.
