The Mission City Bike Trail passes through the small city of San Fernando along the active metrolink tracks, roughly paralleling San Fernando Blvd. The trail connects residential neighborhoods to the commercial uses along San Fernando and parks in addition to the San Fernando Sylmar light rail station. The trail received the 1998 Project of the Year award from the Southern California Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA). The entire bikeway within the city is fully landscaped and lighted. You may take the metrolink and travel up to Lancaster, Santa Clarita, Sunland, Burbank, Glendale, or downtown Los Angeles. You can also take south Maclay Avenue to Pico Street and visit our historic Casa de Lopez Adobe located across from the historic Saint Ferdinand's Church. If you've been on the bike all day and want to freshen up you can also visit our Regional Aquatic Pool Facility located at Recreation Park. The pool facility features a competitive lap pool and a water slide and splash zone for the kids.

Straight line all the way in the middle of the industrial area. If you want to jog whiting any distractions, this route may be good.

This is a paved bike path, not a hiking trail. It runs along the train tracks and street.
