Great views but even earlier in the day there are a lot of bikers. Stay aware and you’ll have a blast.

Need to park in the residential area (top of the world) and walk about 5 minutes to the paved trailhead. The trailhead is marked with a surfboard :-). You then walk for about 10 min on the paved road (there are some stairs) and then you’ll hit the actual dirt trailhead on the left hand side. Pay attention or you may miss the sign! I like to do this hike clockwise. I.e. going down the Meadows and coming up on Mentally Sensitive. Going down mentally sensitive is hard on my knees and not as fun! Also keep in mind that Meadows is pretty popular with the mountain bikers. I recommend not wearing headphones so you can hear them and get out of their way. All in all a lovely trail and makes for a good hour and a half work out!

This was a hard one. We went up Mentally Sensitive and back down Meadows, cutting across to the Wood trail. Up was steep and challenging. Down Meadows was long. I could see where it would be challenging. The bugs were plentiful. Parts of the trail were a bit overgrown.

Nice trail. “Technically” closed due to Covid-19 but you can still socially distance and get on. A quarter of this trail is pretty overgrown but it’s quiet and you’ll enjoy canyon views and some pretty wildlife as you go.

Started from the parking lot to the wilderness on Alicia Parkway. Took Meadows up and Mentally Sensitive down. I found going down to worse than going up honestly. It was a tough one, but enjoyable if you are up for it. Definitely will be back to do it again maybe the other way around, especially if we get another super-bloom this year. Watch out for bikers on the trail, make sure you are attentive because there are some blind turns. I did not encounter any on Meadows or Mentally Sensitive but they are travelled by bikers.

Ooooooeeeeee the way up is harder than it looks. Definitely fun. Be careful of bikes flying down the hill, though. There are lots of blind turns on this narrow trail.

Lightly trafficked even on a Sunday. Beautiful and well-maintained trail nonetheless. I learned to rely on the preserve map instead.

Crazy good work out. Been doing this hike constantly the last month or so. Saw some pretty big paw prints on the trail today, so caution.

Steep incline, watch out for bikes. The view at the top makes it worth it, especially if you hike over to Top of the World.

This trail is definitely difficult and steep. The path narrows and when you are climbing you may need to take some breaks. I have done 6-7 milers, but the elevation gain in a short distance is what gets you. The view is spectacular. Once you get to the top, and hit top of the world it can be very breezy. The top area is pretty easy. Make sure you bring enough water. The rain has made it pretty muddy and can be slippery in some parts.

2/12/19 kind of muddy. Trail head difficult to find. then once I was on it, there were a few dirt paths that I thought were the trail but ended up having to double back. super steed down Mentally Sensitive so I took that down and then took Meadows up. still steep and pretty difficult for me but I'm a fairly new hiker. probably wouldn't do it again until I'm a little stronger. also once I got to the top of Meadows trail, a construction worker told me I had to go back the way I came because the road was closed. there was no way I was going back that way! so I had to wait until the road was clear and he escorted me past. Very eventful.

Nice hike. If you’re going up Mentally Sensitive- be very aware of mountain bikers. There are blind turns that are very steep. There aren’t a lot of places to move aside so just be cautious :)

Liked this one. The last half mile is butt burner but use extreme caution with mountain bikers (clockwise on loop). We added additional mileage by making stops at Cave Rock & Dripping Cave. I liked the access here to the park/trails because it is way less busy than Top of the World.

This is a great challenging short hike. It's was perfect for a trail run followed by a heart attack style scramble up that literally made me question why I did this. The view from the top was great and I took my time going down Meadows before running on the Aliso trail back to my car.
