Great hike up! Very steep and rocky! Need shoes that grip or you will slip! But a great hike up
I’ve done this hike a few times now and I’m not quite sure how this is considered moderate. The first half mile or so is up hill so definitely a good burn for the legs and lungs if you keep a good pace. Hiking boots are recommended due to the big rocks on trail would could easily bend an ankle or 2. Once up to the top coming down is refreshing and slippery so be cautious. From there it’s easy breathing til you get to the hills of the cross and there the burn although not so bad is still there. Once you are at the top you have an amazing view. The walk down the hill back to Aspel is refreshing as well til you get to the hill you first climbed, it’s not so bad back up but again, burns. Once you get to the top and headed back to your starting point you feel the victory, but again be cautious as it is extremely slippery. I feel I have conquered this hike so will be adding some challenges to it soon with more hill climbs. 59 minutes to the cross and back is my time walking and I don’t think I need to go any faster lol. According to my iPhone this is 91 or so floors climbed, but according to the elevation change it should be more. Also some geo caches in this trail so makes for a fun detour here and there. Enjoy
