Awesome place to visit in the fall when all the leaves are falling. It looks like something straight out of lord of the rings. Especially during the cloudy October days when the sun starts setting earlier. There is a very light enchanting mist that creates a haze around the very tall trees. Almost gives them the illusion that they are alive moving or conversing amongst themselves. In the summer this is a great place to visit because of its proximity to courtright reservoir. Stop here for lunch and then keep heading east for a swim in the crystal clear water at courtright which is another 15 minutes or so away.

Absolutely beautiful. Some large redwoods measuring 20+ feet in diameter. Definitely a pretty place to stop by if you are in the area. Like others have noted, it really isn’t a hike but it’s a great space to enjoy giant trees without the hustle and bustle of the extremely popular national parks in the area.

Came here on Mother’s Day this year. A little bit of a ride from Clovis, but really secluded and nice. There were a handful of giant sequoias in the area and as well as picnic benches. The loop is an easy walk. We ended up hiking off the trail to check out more of the area. There was still some snow on the trail along with downed trees. Kids loved it and worth the drive. Hidden gem.

This is more of a stroll amongst a beautiful grove of Giant Sequoias than a hike. Completely paved so it’s easy for everyone and it’s a good place to stretch your legs on the way to Wishon and Courtright Reservoirs.
