An easy trail underfoot with fabulous views over San Francisco and the bay to the south, and north to Stinsons Beach. My sat nav made the distance 4.2 miles. The start is up from the carpark for Bootjack campground which charges $8 per day, but there is free off road parking 100 yards further up the road to the southwest which was only lightly used at midday during the week in March. There is also free parking a little further on at the Rock Springs trailhead which is also on the route. We chose to hike the trail anticlockwise to get the climb over with, and this also means the best views are in front of you as you get to the top. Just follow the signposted trail to the theatre. The ascent is steady, but never really steep, and good under foot. Overall, this is a great half day hike, which helps you see the world in perspective when there is financial armageddon and global pandemic all around you. Enjoy!

Phenomenal! Went counter clockwise on the trail, about 2 miles in there are plenty of views and overlooks to have lunch at. Would definitely be back, with sandwiches next time!
