From Scott Mountain Summit on SR 3 hike east on the PCT to Masterson Meadow Lake. There are views of the Russian and Marble Mountain Wildernesses in the distance shortly after the start, followed soon by views of the western portions of the Trinity Alps before being able to spy Mt. Shasta lined up directly behind Mt. Eddy. The trail goes in and out the trees. About 3.5 miles from the trail-head you must leave the PCT and scramble a short distance uphill to Masterson Meadow Lake. (See the way-point recorded below) By walking around to the far side of the lake you are able to see Mt. Shasta beyond it. The trail-head is in the Klamath NF, while most of the trail is in the Trinity NF.

Easy hike with views to the northwest, southwest, south and east and the treat of a lake at the end. A regular for the Siskiyou Wanderers, often in winter or spring.
