Mar Det Trail is a 4.2 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Garden Valley, California that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, birding, and horses and is best used from March until November. Horses are also able to use this trail.
Directions from Georgetown: Follow Highway 193, two miles south to Meadowbrook Road and turn east. In about one mile, the road ends at the trailhead.
Trail is rough going at times. Very few flat areas, mostly up or down steep terrain. Single file trail, some overgrown areas. Trail is marked with stakes and streamers.
Poison oak was abundant!
