Nice hike along the ocean. We walked south and up the trail to the entrance to Sunset State (restrooms located here) and back. 4.7 miles. There were a few walkers along the way, with a few people fishing and surfing. Walking in sand can be tough.

Continuous sandy coastline for many miles in both directions. Neither too crowded nor too desolate. Clean and safe to go barefoot. If you walk N to the end of the bay you can climb the stairs, turn left, and walk along some nicely wooded tracks to the beach town of Capitola.

manresa beach trail is a completely joyous hiking trail, the look, smell, taste of the ocean made for a great ombiance and for suffering from a stroke 12-28-2016 it was perfect for my first hike of the season
