This is my favorite hike at Death Valley. The Golden Canyon, Manley Beacon, and Red Cathedral are beautiful to hike through. There are some amazing viewpoints, and you can get some really cool pictures of tiny people hiking these huge hills. Take the hidden side trail to a great viewpoint near Manley Beacon. Avoid the hike through the wash on the south side of the canyon. It sucks to walk on the gravel, and you can't see anything cool in this area. Stay on the trail that goes to the Mainly Beacon area.
Best hike in death valley because it offers the best panorama on the golden canyon area. When you are around the base of Manly Beacon, go south-west and hike the hill in front of it. Go the higher you can: you’ll have a 360 panorama of the area. You will see: -the red cathedral like no other point of view. -manly beacon like no other point of view. -the colored hills behind the golden canyon which are hidden from any other viewpoint. -the golden canyon itself from above -the « hard dunes » from there to Zabriskie point -Zabriskie point itself -all the moutains around Breathtaking view: bring water and do not miss it!!
