Legit desert walk. As described, this is a short trail from the Third Crossing in Coyote Canyon, up the 4x4 'alley' and to the Galleta Meadows historical marker in Collins Valley, and back again. It's interesting, and the hike up the 4x4 road just pushes it to the moderate level, but there's so much more... Consider this as a gateway hike to Cougar or Sheep canyons, or to other points around the beautiful Collins Valley. Make it a loop by heading up the 4x4 road, then follow the sandy roads around to the creek, and back to the third crossing through the dense greenery along the creek bed.
