This trail runs from Nira to Hurricane Deck. As an out-and-back day hike it would be strenuous given the elevation gain and distance involved. The trail is generally gradual without many steep sections. This trail can also be used to connect to Hurricane Deck for longer backpacking trips. As you come out of the valley shortly after Vulture Spring, you get a great panoramic view of the area. There are a few tree falls and recent rockslides, but all are pretty easily passable. The trail is easy to follow, although having GPS always helps. Generally, the section after the Twin Oaks Camp is less used and sometimes in poorer condition. There is not a reliable water source on this trail. The trail follows a creek bed up until Twin Oaks Campground, but the creek bed is usually dry. While there is a spring shortly after Twin Oaks Camp, it is a very small trickle of water Accordingly, plan to pack your water.
