The trailhead in Oak Creek Canyon is very nice. Parking is plentiful. There's an information kiosk, There are a number of picnic tables both at the trailhead and along the Oak Creek Canyon Loop. There is also one picnic table well into the hike after some of the more sun exposed portions of the hike. The is also a pit toilet at the trailhead.

Oak Creek Canyon is an excellent access to the Los Robles Open Space and the Los Robles Trail. The beginning of the hike goes through a very nice shady area with picnic facilities and interpretive signs. Views along the hike are excellent. The Ceanothus was in bloom (February) with white flowering bushes mixed into the hillsides. The climb to a bench on the vista loop is well worth the effort. The trail has some steep stretches but nothing too onerous. Footing can be tricky as the trail in many areas climbs over sandstone. The sandstone can develop a thin layer of sand which hinders traction. Shoes with lug sole are recommended. Bicyclists can go way too fast on sections with limited visibility creating a hazard especially for small children and dogs.
