The Live Oak Trail is located in O'Neil Regional Park so be prepared to pay $3.00 on week days and $5.00 on week ends to get in to the park. Once you pay at the ranger station, veer right and go straight to the end of the road and find plentiful parking at the very end. Both the Edna Spalding and Live Oak Trails are inside the chain link gate. The 4.4 mile loop consists of combining the Live Oak Trail to Vista Trail and taking the Hoffman Homestead Trail back to Live Oak. Be sure to pick up a trail map with your paid admission to the park. Over all the hike was pleasant with some good views up on Vista and Live Oak trails. Visit OC Parks.com for additional info.
