Seldom used trail. Great for dogs because there are no ladders.

5 stars for a dog hike, 3 stars if you're comparing it to other hikes nearby. go in the morning so you can hug the canyon walls and conserve your energy because there are a TON of side slot canyons to explore. most are quite short, but all are worth it. had to take my pack off and squeeze through a few which was fun. great morning hike!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this trail. My boyfriend and I parked down the road a ways next to the giant sandstone formations and camped all night! We then hiked the trail in the morning which is perfect for dogs off leash because it’s in a canyon so there’s really no where to go but straight. I would highly recommended visiting this spot. I’ll be going back soon for sure! Plus Joshua Tree is only 30 minutes away! Perfect weekend trip!

Not a very well traveled hike so not to many foot prints to follow. Easy to veer off in the wrong direction as it is not marked as well as the ladder hike. Only hiked in 1.8 miles. As the canyon narrowed it looked like there was an impassable rock slide so I turned back. Could be that I was in the wrong canyon!!! Beautiful majestic canyon walls against the blue sky but probably won’t do it again.
