Park at the Rim Crest Drive trailhead. For the 6-mile loop with Little Canyon, take South Ridge Trail east, Little Canyon Trail north, Telegraph Canyon Trail east, Sycamore Trail northeast, North Ridge Trail northwest, Gilman Trail southwest to the peak, continue southwest on Gilman Trail, Telegraph Canyon Trail west, and Easy Street Trail south back to the trailhead. For a 4-mile out-and-back instead, from the trailhead take Easy Street Trail north, Telegraph Canyon Trail east, Gilman Trail north to the peak, and reverse to get back to the trailhead. Nice wild flowers are on the South Ridge Trail and Gilman Trail.

As previously said...very hot... make sure you go earlier in the day. Not very good signage...was confused on where to start for the Little canyon trail bc the starting point doesn't have that listed as one of the trails. Make sure you take screen shots of map before you enter trails ...not way to access the All Trails map once you get in the canyon. Bring lots of water...very little shade. Lots of poop on the trail too : (

On a hot day like today, be aware there is very little shade. I think this hike would have been totally different on a cooler day.
Bring lots of water!!

Great hike! Nice views and a good workout. Lots of birds and small wildlife on the trail.

Gilman Peak is the second highest peak in Chino Hills State Park. The fastest way there is from the Rim Crest Drive trailhead in Yorba Linda (2 miles out and 2 miles back), however I like a little more workout so in winter and spring I take the South Ridge Trail to Little Canyon Trail, then Sycamore Trail to hit Gilman Peak from the east. This is a 6 mile loop.
