The summit of this hike offers an amazing view of the Silliman Crest and the Great Western Divide. Located 1.5 miles south of Dorst Campground, the Little Baldy trailhead is marked by a large sign on the east side of the road. After two switchbacks, you are guided through a quiet forest before the trail opens up onto the top of an open granite dome.

A great little "off-the-beaten-path" hike, perfect for when you have half an afternoon free. The sign at the trailhead says that it should take between 2 and 3 hours, but I think an hour and a half is just about enough. The views from the top are absolutely worth the effort.

Up and down before noon, strong sun at concluding rock, but hat was enough. Great view at top, and enough space to lay out and enjoy (unlike Moro). Very light traffic. Saw deer, marmot, butterflies, and lots of bees. Only a bit into moderate difficulty with 10mo in backpack and 8+6yrs. Trail marker off road a bit, but easy to see Little Baldy Saddle sign from road.

Great hike with lots of shaded areas. Saw two deer, a very friendly marmot, and a grouse hen with her chicks. The hike itself is between easy and moderate depending on your fitness level. As other people have said, there are 2 massive granite domes towards the end of the hike. Don’t be fooled and stop at the first slab. Keep on hiking to reach the real Little Baldy. The view is worth the extra elevation.

Breathtaking peak! shaded for the most part. We hiked this trail with our 9 yo and 13 yo, they were beat but loved reaching the peak. Spotted a deer on the path and a couple of mormats. Beautiful wildflowers throughout the trail.

Stunning views. This is an enjoyable challenge in terms of difficulty. Watch out for wildlife on the trail.

Everything Stacy said- she was right on and I couldn’t say it any better. Quick and easy hike with maximum payoff. Absolutely worth the effort as the views are simply stunning!

Previous descriptions are quite accurate, trail is gorgeous with lovely wooded areas, pretty flowers, butterflies, rocky areas and marmots! The peak is amazing and provides a true 360 view, not to be missed! Tracked on all trails and it was longer than stated. There's a rocky area about a quarter mile before the peak. The peak is higher up with 360 views so don't be fooled by the first granitey area. We also heard a low grade vibration in the trees that was a bit spooky and we talked to other hikers who heard it too. Asked a park ranger later who told us it was a growse. Look them up they are cool!

Beautiful view from the top. Would recommend late spring or fall as it is an uphill climb going in and can get hot. There are no springs or waterfalls along the way. Beautiful during spring with lots of green.

One of the best views of the Sierras I’ve seen. Highly recommended!

Absolutely stunning views! As of 4/1/18 it was still completely snow covered, so come prepared (aka don’t wear sneakers like my girlfriend—we were up to our knees in parts). With the snow it took about 2.5 hours with some time spent up top. Some areas were slick so watch out!

My favorite trail ever! It felt like we were walking through Narnia. Not many people on the trail and the views from the top were AMAZING! There's a bit of a climb, but it's pretty gradual. I went in July and September and it was great both times!

Extremely peaceful and quiet trail with an amazing view at the end! Just some patches of snow throughout as of 2/16/18. I highly recommend

12/30/17 This is one of our favorite hikes. It’s easy and the views are amazing! No snow as of right now just a few patches of ice along the trail. Temps in the low to mid 50’s.

Went on a whim driving through. Very good hike to a very nice view. Has a marker on top stating the altitude. kinda cool.

Amazing! Sitting on top and gazing out into the Great Western Divide was the highlight of the whole Sequoia trip. Hardly any people on the trail, and it gets the heart going even though the hike isn't too long. Do not attempt if icy or any chance of lightning, but definitely attempt otherwise!

great alternative when Morro rock is crowded. first part is steep and relatively boring switchbacks but once you reach the ridge it's a nice hike.

If you find yourself in Sequoia NP, do not miss this trail! The peak is a granite dome with a fantastic 360 degree view.

Nice trails with long switchbacks to lessen the climb. The views were amazing but heave smoke lessened the distance you could see.

I would say this is easy to moderate with a few switch backs and slight elevation change. It took us about 45mins to get to the top and I took quite a few breaks along the way. I enjoyed this hike and would recommend it to beginners or those looking for a short, fun hike.

Great short hike. Wonderful views from the top. When we went it was a little hazy, but the sunlight through the clouds was amazing.

One of my favorite hikes! The beginning is a little steep, but the incline begins to steady itself once you get through the initial two switchbacks. It's a nice short hike to bring friends to that don't normally hike. Two out of the three times I've hiked it, I've gotten to the summit and had the dome all to myself or with the friends I took with me. Definitely a great place to sit and be still.

This hike has everything. Well maintained trail with easy switchbacks, great views along the way up and a serene panorama up at the top. Bonus is that it is not highly traveled. We were there in late Sept and saw 1, maybe 2 other cars parked along the road for the hike. Once you get up there though there are several places to tuck in to avoid the wind and take in the view for as long as you want with no one else around. Took my husband and I a couple of hours for the hike itself and we stayed at the top for about a half hour. Would have stayed longer but it was a little cold (lower 40's). Highly recommend!

Wonderful view, and such an easy hike! Try to avoid fire season. No traffic was encountered at all.

My favorite hike we did in the park, GREAT views for an easier trail. Saw only two other groups on the trail, nice & quiet

Great hike. Started at our camp at Dorst Creek and hiked a not as well used trail to the start point on Generals Hwy. The views at the top were amazing!
