You can take your dog ON LEASH only, on the southern part of the beach(left side). Pretty much no one follows those leash laws though. The Park Ranger would have a field day ticketing people who think they're above the rules. But over all great spot!

Perfect beach. Elephant seals and lots of birds. Next time will plan for a little bonfire.

Lovely estuary and beach walk. many water birds. Heavily populated on New Year's Day.

A lovely walk along the beach... I made it about half way down - elephant seals were out taking naps in the sun.

Beautiful, easy walk along the shoreline. Lots of birds, sea dollars and, on my walk, sea lions (or harbor seals). I was alone on the beach for the vast majority of the walk, especially toward the end tip of the shore where it meets the estuary. Two seals followed me from the water for most of the way back which was fun. When I’d stop walking they’d just bob in front of me until I began walking again. Overall very peaceful.

Overgrown path that cannot be followed. We found three deer ticks on our clothes, shoes, and neckline. Finally, came across a giant whale carcass, sea lion carcass, hundreds of dead crabs, seagull carcasses, etc., Awful.

started out hiking on the bluff but the lack of a maintained trail there quickly forced us to the beach which was lovely. unbelievably expansive and pristine (except for that one carcass that smelled pretty bad) Would recommend to anyone that wants a leisurely stroll on a beautiful beach!

The portion of the hike that we took was pretty much along the beach. We did about a 5 mile out and back. The beach was beautiful, as always, and we encountered a range of wildlife both alive and dead! Live sea lions, birds, and the remains of a whale.

Gorgeous views of Point Reyes to the north and Alamere Falls to the south. Walk a couple miles south at a negative low tide to find keyholes, interesting rock formations, waterfalls and some caves.

Very disappointed that dogs were only allowed to the left of the parking lot — expected them to be allowed on the mapped trail with leash so this was a waste of a trip. That said, very beautiful beach.

It is one of my favorite beach. Beautiful. You can walk or run miles and miles, left and right. Lots of people, kids playing, people riding horses along the beach.

had a great day. dog oneash, kids running in the waves. the isopods were spawnong so the anchovies were out eating the eggs. all the pelicans and sea lions were out to eat the anchovies. amazing feaat of life. we also saw a coyotes and a red shoulder hawk just on the road. because of the restrictions on dogs we drove in except for the last bit to the beach where we walked with packs and had a picnic. totally would reccomend.

One of the better beach hikes. We arrived at 7:00am. We had the entire beach to our self's. Completely isolated early morning walk. We only hiked 3.5 miles / 1-1/2hrs but still nice as hiking in the sand is a bit slower. Lots of wildlife, birds, two seals watching us from the water, crabs. Dog friendly. We left around 9:30 and went to breakfast at the Station House Cafe near Point Reyes Station. Great morning!

Nice beach walk. Beautiful wildflowers. Not too windy. The beach just by the trail head was very crowded but thinned out quickly as we walked along.

Came for a day trip with the family and a couple girlfriends. Was just beautiful. We walked down the entire beach. Found ship ruins and hiked up the sand dunes. Was a wonderful day will go back for sure.

a great place to relax after an intense hike like Sky Trail. I would bring lunch next time.

Awesome beach and wasn't crowded at all. You can have fires on the beach here as long as you fill out a permit at the visitor center. Great place to relax and play in the water a bit if you don't mind chilly water.

Wonderful place to stroll especially when it is HOT inland. Wildlife sightings abound....seals, whales, otters, sting rays....

Belle balade tranquille en bord de mer où on peut observer différentes sortes d'oiseaux et apercevoir des otaries.

Dogs allowed to the Left of the parking lot, not to the Right. Pleasant walk on the beach.

We went 6 miles up and back. We turned left instead of right and ended up at Sculptured Beach. Wow! That's when the pictures started. So beautiful. We even saw a natural bridge cut into the rocks. Easy hike, very romantic with my wife.
