Nice trail that connects to others and crosses several roadways, so you can pick which parts you want to hike and drive to that trailhead. The 2 I saw were Kanan and Latigo. Castro Motorway was not driveable in places, and lots of gates and private property signs. I'd avoid Castro Motorway by car.

A little barren, but nice along the trail itself.

Very narrow trail with lots of inconsiderate hikers and cyclists not wearing masks, and no way to distance oneself from them. Also, happily, many considerate hikers and cyclists wearing masks or at least having them handy to use when near others. The flowers and butterflies, canyon and mountain views were delightful, though. Charming waterfall below the trail plus a little creek to cross.

Easy trail but very hot! Views aren’t crazy awesome. Only saw two bikers on the trail and no one else. Went on a Thursday. Lots of great flowers.
