We took my completely stock 1999 Jeep 4x4 Cherokee out today and wound up on this trail. Not knowing anything about the trail we kept going until we got to the steep hill. After looking at it and screwing up my courage I made it down the hill and kept going since there was no turning around at that point. The trail got rockier and tighter as we went, and we got hung up in a few places and had to do a bit of landscaping to get free. There were lots of people out today on the trail offering help if needed so that was nice. All in all it was a fun trail, just take your time and pick your line and you’ll be ok. If you are in a stock 4x4 I’d recommend some additional lift over stock to get over the rocks.

Bit off a bit more than I could chew but made it through with a little bit of battle wounds on my sliders and a heck of a lot more confidence. This isn’t an easy route- lots of rocks and thought goes into picking a line- at least until you get out of the canyons. That took a few hours. Then one awesome steep hill which is easier than it looks and then it’s all a beauty for the rest of the ride. Sahara, 2.5” lift, rubi take offs, disconnected sway bar, pb&j on wheat. Enjoy!

Good trail! Definitely need 4x4 and clearance for it! Lots of challenges for a first timer. But overall, it was fun. Can get lost easily so look for brown signs.

def need some clearance.. we had to turn back on stock trd offroad listen to Alex down in the comments. turned around at about the 3 mile mark going from the south point due to a washed out side trail that would have most likely tipped us over in stock height. still fun and challenging.

You definitely are not making this in a 2wd vehicle any longer.... south end of the trail the road is washed out in about 19 different spots.

Great trail! Mostly a rocky wash, with a few steep outcrops to climb. Great geology to see. Ran the trail in a 4th gen 4Runner with 3-inch lift and 33" AT tires, no issues. I would not recommend in a stock height 4x4, you'll take a beating.

Has some more difficult sections that you don't have to take. A fun day out from LA Watch out for turtles and give them the road.

Lots of technical parts if you follow this route. Went in a raptor and needed a spotter and 4x4. Def easier in an ATV. Once you turn to go to tunnel it is easy going.

Great trip, had a blast. We took a 72 bronco, 08 4 door rubicon, a stock Durango, and my very mild samurai. Went in off of rannsburg road from the south. The Durango made it in about 400 yards before it got too rocky. Had a blast took and we had 4 children under 7 and they all had a great time!! Definitely take a snack out it can be a long day.
