We were planning on hiking to Lassen Peak but there was still to much snow coverage even in late June. Definitely will be back to do the hike.
Still full of snow and road is closed. Max temp is still low 60s. No luck today
Unbelievable. A bit scary if you’re driving on the drop-off side of the road. “Awesome” is not a big enough word.
Go early and you can pull over momentarily for picture opportunities if you are quick! amazing experience! One thing I didn't realize about Lassen is that there are 5 different areas. i don't think you canaccess all 5 areas from the same entry point. If this is the driving trail I took it is just Mazanita and Summit Lakes areas and the southwest area. All of those trailheads are available
Awesome drive when the road is clear, beautiful lakes, forest, rock outcroppings and views. Lots to see and do. A must drive. Signature hike is the Bumpass Hell hike, with lots of hot springs and pools, volcanic features, and more. Don't forget to take water.
Awesome road...especially on my motorcycle with my best friend of long ago.
Is the Mount Lassen trail open?
was snowing that thay.. but just beautiful views!
It was one of the most beautiful things I had ever seen
Beautiful drive and an interesting mountain
Beautiful pine forested scenic drive with lakes, mountains waterfalls and steaming vents. Climbed part way up a large cinder cone. Striking colors of some of the lakes, from mineral content?
