Go early and you can pull over momentarily for picture opportunities if you are quick! amazing experience!

One thing I didn't realize about Lassen is that there are 5 different areas. i don't think you canaccess all 5 areas from the same entry point. If this is the driving trail I took it is just Mazanita and Summit Lakes areas and the southwest area. All of those trailheads are available

Awesome drive when the road is clear, beautiful lakes, forest, rock outcroppings and views. Lots to see and do. A must drive. Signature hike is the Bumpass Hell hike, with lots of hot springs and pools, volcanic features, and more. Don't forget to take water.
