The 2-acre serene lake on Forest Service property offers good trout fishing during spring, summer and fall months. Occasionally, the lake freezes over in winter. Lake Fulmor is on National Forest land. The lake provides day use activities for the public. Fishing and picnic areas with grills, an encompassing trail that crosses a bridge, and beautiful surroundings make this an enjoyable spot for locals and tourists. A parking area is across the highway from the lake so use caution when crossing to and from the lake. You do need an Adventure or Recreation Pass to park.
Easy peasy walk around a beautiful lake. If you have kids this is a great stop. Fishing can be good. Sites to picnic and grill your catch.
Nice EASY stroll around the lake, not really a hike, and definitely not moderate. We went around the trail twice an about an hour, maybe less. Beautiful little lake, lots of shade and huge pine cones!! Would be a great place for a family to spend the day, lots of picnic tables, bbq's, fishing areas and restrooms available. Lots of parking and easy to find, be sure to get a forest pass!! Walk up the road a bit to a small turnout/info area and find a great view of the entire valley, a little further up the road is a dirt truck trail with an even better view from a huge rock!
Nice little area has BBQ pits and fishing
Breathtakingly beautiful brisk walk...
Nice walk on a cool day.
Some areas are a bit smelly (still water). A few small trails go uphill to the right of the fence guarding the lakes mouth. Some large boulders are accessible through them. They appear to be old forestry trails. Came across a few young trees, easy to get disoriented without trailblazes or landmarks.
Don't keep your hopes very high up. It's a short trail, but quite nice. You have to have Adventure Pass for parking, which is unfortunately not specified in the description. It's 5 bucks a day pass, but getting it will make the walk so much nicer and calmer
nice trail, VERY SHORT..but little lake was nice
Short and buggy. DEFINITELY bring bug spray.
We took my 3 and 5 year olds out there this morning and had a great time! We walked around the little lake 4 or 5 times and they got to see squirrels, fish, ducks, different colored dragonflies and got to hold a big butterfly! The trails were easy enough for them to run around on and they made a pretend fishing rod after being inspired by all the people fishing. We'll definitely stop again next time we're up there, but we won't make the trip up the mountain solely for this short hike.
Also, the name is spelled incorrectly on the app. It's spelled Lake Fulmor. :)
This was a nice easy stroll with the kids. Lots of picnic benches to have lunch. Fun for kids. Dragon flies, fish, squirrels, butterflies, we even saw a rattlesnake. Very scenic!
Pretty Lake with a trail that wraps around the lake. Can fish swim & hike bring the family!
