Explore Lake Del Valle. From the north side of the lake, hike around for great views of the lake. Bring plenty of water, it is often hot and exposed. East Shore Trail connects to the Heron Bay Trail.

Mainly open sun trail. Beautiful view of lake at top. Option to extend the trail route over 3 miles if chose.

Best time is in Winter or Spring when everything is green and not in summer when it's blazing hot and hills are brown. Was initially going to take East Shore trail to Hetch Hetchy, but trail was closed due to trail conditions. So we decided to take the Ridgeline Trail across from parking area and took a left to connect with Squirrel Gulch trail for a loop back down to parking lot. It's a little over 2 miles. Nice, short workout with a couple inclines to get to the ridgeline for a nice view of lake. Not crowded for a Sunday..mostly fishermen, families picnicking, and mountain bikers.
