Dogs on leash in developed areas/under voice command in undeveloped areas of the park. You can avoid a large portion of the paved East Shore Trail by taking the southern Cameron Loop after crossing the Honker Bay bridge, Ten Hills Trail, and Indian Cove Trail leaving a very short paved section to the Marina

I biked this trail today, I'm new to mountain biking and this was very tough for me. I had a lot of fun and I see myself coming back here again and again to work on my biking.

Lots of shade, gorgeous views and very accessible.

Great place to walk but watch for the bikers for they travel fast on the path.

Tranquil and scenic. Very well maintained trail and a lot of coverage of shades. It is a very comfortable hike even on a hot day. The 9 mile distance makes it a real work-out.

I've done this loop many times, both hiking and running. It's an excellent trail to run, just the right amount of challenge. Gorgeous views of the lake in some places. A nice mixture of sun and shade and excellent wildlife viewings. Love this trail - especially now that the dam is open again!

Clean, marked well, multiple challenging inclines, some scary narrow steep areas, finished in 2.5 hours running walking. Def would do it again

Was a fun trail took about 3 hours to complete. You get to see a great sight of SF through the trees. It was the first time actually going on a hike with my girl and my dog.

Hiked the around the whole lake, it was beautiful. Not to strenuous, we started on the left side by the bathrooms/Marina and would do that again. It was shady and the incline was not to bad.
Going the other way we would of been in the sun during a steep dirt trail portion. Started at 8:30am done by 1:30pm. Stopped after mile 5 or so, found a nice bench with a view for lunch.

Beautiful! We just did 1.5 miles on the left side of the loop and then back. Saw four deer! Nice and shady Lakeside hike. Loved it!

I enjoyed this hike. It starts off with about two miles of pavement, then goes to about the off-road, and then ends up with the two miles of pavement.

Depending on the time of day, and the time of week it can get busy here, but the trails are well maintained, and the views are beautiful.

Lake Chabot is a local fave. Unfortunately after this crazy winter you can't do the full loop. What you can do is go as far as you can and then wander upwards through the state campsite slightly bewildered (stick to the Lake Chabot bike loop) and then find the Live Oak Trail to get back down. And when I say down... it's straight down. It was a boggling experience BUT! There is a killer view of the lake if you persevere! You got this.

This trail is not closed. There's an area that is closed and that's the part were you turn back around. However, there is a really steap hill that is about a mile long, that is a challenge to walk up, but I made it so you can to. You do feel out of breath and your legs, and thighs are burning.
