Easy trail with lots of amazing tall trees. Perfect for kids and there is a self guided tour guide at the start.

Great informative trail. We learned more about the magestic giant redwoods on this trail than we did in the visitors center. The trail leaflet was worth way more than a dollar.

Amazing trees, a little busy but not bad . Mostly flat hike

CAUTION!!! To anyone in the area, I advise everyone to not pass where the pavement ends at the end of bald hills road. If you reach the fire station then you have gone to far, turn around. No more national park trails in this area. It is in the wilderness not the national park. The map says you can reach the 169 Hwy or the 299 hwy by going down that road. This is a dangerous area with a narrow one lane road. It will eventually lead to a town called weitchpec but this is a small town, with one questionable gas station. Definitely go back towards the 101 Hwy.

Fun, simply trail with a lot of great photo opportunities. Look for some of the “off trail” paths, which are still well maintained but are less trafficked. There’s a bunch of cool formations hiding down these paths.

The quietness is overwhelming! The ferns are at least 5 feet tall; and the trees will leave you speechless.

This is an easy and short loop that would be perfect for small children and families. It showcases some huge trees. It is a great introduction trail to the redwoods. No need to bring lunch or a huge camelback of water. I imagine this trail would be crowded in the peak season. I went in late March with my boyfriend and we had almost the entire trail to ourselves.

Easy and pretty trail. We were there in the off season, and it was still pretty busy with lots of cars in the lot.

I did this trail with ranger guides for the initial part - which was awesome to learn about the different growths, history, folk lore. Definitely having the ranger enhanced the whole experience!

If this would have been my first hike in the Redwoods I probably would rate it higher. Not as much old growth as I expected. The trail IS very easy and I would recommend it for small children.

Hiked in September 2018. Easy walk - the ferns were almost as impressive as the redwoods.
