Kind a lost the trail a bit and made our own way for this hike. Not making new paths but just following random trails

HikingGreat!

Don’t let the trail photo fool you there is no lake on this hike. You would have to go another 3 miles to get to the lake. Easy out and back and would have loved to have my mtb to explore this area.

Very nice stroll out in the desert. It got warm near midday so be prepared with lots of water and look out for heat conditions prior to heading out.

Wonderful desert trail. Great hike but very little shade so wear a good hat and bring water.

Wear a mask! Not everyone was wearing a mask. Sandy and sunny. Wear hiking boots and take out your trash.

Pretty easy hike to do. Brought my 50+ y/o parents. High top shoes recommended because there’s some areas of soft sand where low tops would get buried. No shade so I’d wear a hat/sunblock, etc...

Hiked the La Quinta Cove Trail & then went on to hike a portion of the Boo Hoff Trail. Recommend the Boo Hoff Trail because it has more "character" & adds more challenge than the LQ Cove Trail. Very little shade...be sure to take plenty of water!

Dogs are NOT ALLOWED (beyond the opening walk-up), and there is a requirement that visitors need to pay to visit the lake. Very frustrating not to have known that before we went!

Definitely the best expert-level trail for mountain biking. This Trail equals those that would be found in Mammoth Mountain or Tahoe... one thing to keep in mind is there are TONS of caves so make sure to bring protection. Additionally, especially the higher up you go, the potential for rain goes up. Absolutely beautiful!
