Kwaay Paay Peak Trail is a 2.3 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Santee, California that features a great forest setting and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
A nice short trail with excellent views. However it feels longer cause the incline is constant, definitely steep near end
Moderate to a saddle then a solid straight up some stairs/steep chaparral bound single track. A nice little workout! Definitely a decent amount of traffic so it’s worth coming early morning or weekday to avoid crowds. Great view of coast and out to mountains to west with major peaks all visible from El Cap out to Woodson, Laguna, Cuyamaca, and even Palomar etc in the distance.
Great easy to moderate hike, can be steep at parts but not too bad.
This one definitely should be classified as difficult. It’s incredibly steep and rocky in parts (watch your footing!), and it was very crowded the day I went. The expansive views at the top are a wonderful reward, though...we could see all the way to downtown San Diego.
Tough but a Good workout. I park far away from the trail to give myself a lil warm up walk and cool down
