Great weekend trail hike. Can only imagine how it looks with everything grown in. Despite the barren land it was still great to hike and the views were priceless. The first half of the trial was alright, with the second half being a little harder. Would totally revisit

Devastated by the recent Post fire. BLM has graded the trail for 2/3 of the route but recent rains have led to the trail being disrupted in places by mud and rock slides. Still navigable when dry and worth the pursuit. Some jerk carried a can of spray paint up there and painted something on the peak.

There was a recent fire in this area that made some parts of the trail very difficult to traverse due to loose dirt. Overall great views and worth the hike though.

Fantastic hike. Bigfoot and I carried multiple rattle snakes to the top of the hike and they enjoyed klapping cheeks at the top #oops #12er

Decent trail if you don’t want to take the drive to a state/national park. Desolate and not extremely well maintained. Came across a few bearded dragons. Easy for rattlesnakes to hide very close to the trail. Came within 2’ of one while being vigilant. Be careful and it can be fun.

Great trail for any beginner to experienced hiker. Be careful of RATTLE SNAKES!! Bring some sunscreen and lots of water not much cover a hot or sunny day. Took the pups on the hike they made it no problem. The summit is a great place to stop and have lunch. the walk down was simple just a couple washed out spots that it’s easy to slip just be careful and you’ll be fine. Only saw a couple people on the trail. Not busy at all.

You’re mostly hiking dry dirt mixed with rock, but occasionally we hit some muddy patches. So wear your hiking shoes! Does not bode well with tennis shoes (as we learned). Fun to see all the different angles as you weave through the giant hills. Flat rocks at the top— would recommend a picnic up there. Beautiful at the peak, but nothing more than a full-range view of hills. VERY quiet! Only people on the trail over a 3 hour period!

This hike was unexpectedly good. Great 360 degree views from the top. Parking area is past abandoned buildings that bring horror movie images to your head, but don’t let that scare you off, this one is worth it. Great during winter when the weather in the high sierras is prohibitive. I would recommend this for all skill levels. Trail is well marked with mile markers. This is a good fall to spring hike, summer temps would make it brutal.
