I have done the walking trail and would say it's easy. The mountain bike trail however I would rate as medium difficulty. Would not recommend taking small children on the bike trail. It is extremely rocky in some areas as well as some deep gravel but my 10 year old was able to keep up with minimal whining. You will have to carry your bike across the waterfall area to do the full loop. Not too difficult and an amazing view. There is no shade for half the trail so plan accordingly and carry lots of water. I love this trail, beautiful scenery.

Great trail...very scenic. We like the foliage because it creates lots of shade.

Easy trail. I enjoyed it!. Not many spots to go off the trail and relax though.

A few things make this hike special and 5-star. 1) Several briges over water streams in summer 2) Dozens of crawl fish in water under the bridges 3) Memorial eclectic site in grove of trees with gazebo look for this after going under hwy 15 heading east. the trail mergers with a road for 100yds. memorial site is on your left and trail picks a up again 4) Trail length goes much farther then 3mi round d trip as it continues east into poway. hiked 5mi.I round trip and had left a few miles un-hiked.
